Even ash clouds have a silver lining…

May 17, 2010

Despite Eyjafjallajokull’s best efforts, we were very pleased to hear that while the rest of the country was in distress due to problems around its recent ash cloud that stopped Britian, St George’s (Hanover Square) School from Westminster in London were using Fronter and the London MLE to keep everything running as smoothly as possible.

With students stranded in many foreign destinations such as Los Angeles, Norway, The Seychelles and Russia, they were able to take the necessary initiative to request that their homework, and resources for lessons that they were missing, be made available online.

“The ironic thing is that these ‘stranded students’ were handing in the work quicker than the students who were at school!  The ease and quickness of the MLE has greatly engaged the wider school community and has helped embed the MLE in our learning at St George’s (Hanover Square) School” – Robin Whig, Year 6 Teacher

We are hoping that any more threats to the British airspace will be just a bunch of hot air, but with the uncertainty of what could possibly be around the corner, we are proud that through swine flu, snow days or ash clouds, we will always be your safety net.
